The Roxx Engine is a game engine developed by NCS Roxx (under the name Roxxware), to be used in their Rock Heroes series of rhythm games. It was based on, with permission, the Unreal Engine, which aided in faster development time and allowed for easier use by people familiar with the Unreal Engine. The engine is largely limited in scope, only really being suitable for rhythm games without any major modification. A variant known as Roxx Engine Rev was also created, for use in Rock Heroes: Revolution.
