Campaign[]
The MSG90 is available to be used later in the campaign, in Final Isle and Vulcan's Fury. It is available in the former with a Thermal Scope and is used by enemy snipers in the latter.
Multiplayer[]
The MSG90 is useable straight from the start. It has slightly less of a one-shot kill zone from the ESR with the only difference is that the lower arms are nonlethal with a single bullet.
The rifle's idle sway is the lowest of the sniper rifles and its recoil is also at the bottom, making it one of the best controlled sniper and used in a more traditional sniping manner. Assist aim attachments like the Ballistics CPU and Bipod are not heavily advised due to its already high accurate profile.
Although it is semi-automatic and trails the snipers in recoil, players need to be careful with their aim and second following shots can possibly miss. Like the rest of its peers, the MSG90 has abysmal hipfire traits and a close combat secondary or a primary weapon via pickup or Overkill is advised.
While it and the ESR gain the best benefits from the Chrome Barrel, the attachment will raise gun kick significantly and with it being semi-automatic can defeat one of the key advantages the rifle has. Despite it, using the Chrome Barrel is a good idea to push the one shot kill potential.
